This Manifeso does a Poor Job

I figured I'd write a little mission statement so that 3 months from now we can all look back and have a good chuckle at the brash idealism and naivety of a couple of country boys who made good.

The title from this blog comes from a Cat and Girl comic. It's not my favorite comic but I really liked the phrase and the ensuing shirt. It also gave me an idea for an interesting lobbying group. The gimmick was that this lobbying group would focus on chrono-issues.

Issues that would affect young people who are constitutionally forbidden from holding office. There are a lot of issues that can't be solved because there is no political gain right now for taking the long view. Deficits, energy policy, and a slew of other issues see politicians selling out our long term interests for short term gains because an election is always right around the corner.

Clearly this would have required a lot of work on my part. So instead I slapped it on a blog and made Gunnar do all the hard work of setting it up.

Will this same theme frame the entries that appear in this blog? Probably not. We got two posts up before Gunnar was linking to bunnies. I think you'll find this blog will be fairly spastic in terms of what topics end up being covered and what level of commentary we impose but that's been the history of the Internet from basically day one so I'm not particularly worried.

I imagine you'll find this to be a bit of a Punch and Judy Show, that is to say we will visit wanton acts of literary violence upon any issues that catches our fancy. Without Rhyme or Reason we'll bludgeon a path through world events, tech news and I imagine a fair amount of Ska music. Unless of course traffic lags - then chances are very good we'll just webcam ourselves murdering a couple babies. That's not a dead baby joke that's a literary reference.

I doubt Gunnar is familiar with the history of using the image of a rabbit in your first post but it is an auspicious omen in my book.
